Comments: Longenecker Show Stock is a small flock of Southdowns in South Central, PA owned and Operated byTroy Longenecker. Originally a Fitted Polled Dorset Flock in 2002, we got our start in the Southdown Breed in 2005 with a ewe Troy won in the Ewe's For Youth Bred ewe program and a Spilde Ewe given to him by Ed Keeny, Jennifer Beidel Scramlin & Sarah Doyle. We have always focused on Quality over Quantity with our sheep and strived to breed the most fundamentally sound sheep, with great breed characteristics, length, bone, shag and adequate muscle. Anyone who follows our program knows that Troy loves the pretty, elegant ones. With now 16 years of growing, building and maintaining our flock with the help of the Nichols Bros, Barb Bishop, Rodney Knittel, Tucker Beckmier, George Bro's and many others that have offered us great sheep, advice and partnerships to help take our program to the next level. Our sheep might not hang the big banners every year, but we are proud of this small group that hangs tough with the big dogs in our great breed. Comments: We used Full Pull for Clean Up this year. No Joke, we got 1 February ewe lamb and 2 March ewe lambs out of him and more bucks than I could count on my fingers and toes. Call me cliche, but I am pretty confident I saved the best for last on this sale. If you like them big, bold and cracked open, this big single ewe lambs got all the right pieces to run to the top of the pack this summer. Her momma was a $2,000 high selling ewe at the Ohio Sale from Dale & Cathy Davis. She's out of Spartacus whose daughters just flat work for us.
